Halito, halito means hello in Choctaw, my tribes language. Come in, by the way my name is Coahoma ( pronounced Kowah-ow mah). My name means red panther. I live in the southeast and I am 10, I will be 11 tomorrow. My mother is teaching me how to weave a swamp cane basket. So far I have managed to make a small basket. I think it is lumpy and uneven. Mother and Father said it was perfect, of course my brother Nita meaning bear said after mother and father had gone that it was the lumpiest basket he had ever seen. I knew he was just teasing me like he always does. Nita loves playing Toli. Everyone says he is the best Toli player in the tribe.
My talent is planting and harvesting. Once I grew some corn that was as big as three of the tribes tallest men on top of each other. Nita says that I am exaggerating, but Mother was so proud. Nita is going hunting tomorrow after he celebrates my birthday.Mother said I should collect every thing Nita needs so that he can restore his hunting tools.
I cant wait for my birthday tomorrow,
Coahoma
